Analytical Engineering
The field of analytical engineering is broken up into quite an enormous number of disciplines and hardly fits into the bounds of Engineers Paradise. Usually, analytical engineering deals with the measurement of physical quantities and derives the required measurement values from it, either directly or through conversion. Among others, optical, mechanical or electrical measuring quantities are recorded. However, the individual measuring and evaluation methods cannot be described here, two examples will be presented instead in which measuring precision has been enormously improved not only by sensor technology and evaluation algorithms, but in particular through the development of new materials.
